Chad Bates |
| President and CEO Legacy Financial Group, Inc. Mr. Bates has more than 20 years of successful financial management experience. His dedication to the community has earned him the following awards: Outstanding Young Men of America 1985, Who's Who in American, 1989, Businessman of the year 2002, Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Arlington Man of the Year 2004, AISD PTA Life Member Award 2004. |

Mac Bernd |
| Dr. Mac Bernd came to Arlington in 1998 to lead AISD as superintendent. He directs the operations of the district that includes more than 62,500 students and 7,800 employees. Since arriving in Arlington, Dr. Bernd spearheaded the passage of a $261.68 million bond program, the largest package in the district’s history. Dr. Bernd also led a successful drive that culminated on January 20, 2001, when voters increased the district’s tax cap from $1.35 to $1.50. Dr. Bernd came to Arlington with 11 years experience as superintendent in three school districts. His most recent post was a five-year term at Newport Mesa Unified School District in Newport Beach, California, a demographically diverse district of 21,000 students. Previous experience includes superintendencies in Little Rock School District in Little Rock, Arkansas, and in San Marcos Unified School District, San Diego County, California. A 33-year veteran in education, Dr. Bernd began his career as a teacher in Brighton, Colorado. He later held posts as high school assistant principal and then principal in Greeley, Colorado. In 1983, he moved to Phoenix, where he was Administrator for Effective Schools and Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Bernd earned a bachelor’s degree in 1967 from the University of Northern Colorado and a master’s degree and a doctorate from the University of Colorado. |

Cathy Brown |
| Cathy Bontley Brown graduated from Arlington High as did her two children. She taught English at the original Ferguson Junior High and Sam Houston High School. After retiring to raise her son and daughter, she stayed active in school affairs by serving in PTA and booster clubs at Short Elementary, Gunn Junior High and AHS. She is married to Ron Brown whose mother and grandmother were also AHS graduates. |

Alvie Burdine |
| Alvie Burdine is a past president of the AISD Education Foundation. He has been an active participant with numerous community boards and organizations including Leadership Arlington, the Arlington Parks and Recreation Board (chair), Board of Directors for Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Board of Directors for the AWARE Foundation, Lamar High School Football Booster Club (twice president), Kiwanis Club of Arlington (twice president), AISD Citizens' Budget Review Committee, City of Arlington Storm Water Management Committee. He and his wife Gale have three sons, Lyle, Landry and Logan. |

Jeanne Marcum Gerlach |
| Jeanne Marcum Gerlach is Associate Vice President for K-16 Initiatives and Dean of the College of Education at the University of Texas Arlington. Her research focuses on Urban Education, Business/Higher Education Partnerships, Issues in English Education, Writing As Learning, Women in Leadership Roles, Collaborative Learning, and Governance in Higher Education, She is the coeditor of Missing Chapters: Ten Pioneering Women In NCTE and English Education and co-author of the book, Questions of English: Ethics, aesthetics, rhetoric, and the formation of the subject in England, Australia and the United States. Dr. Gerlach has taught in England, New Zealand, France, Germany, Thailand, and Australia. Her awards include the National Council Teachers of English Outstanding Woman In English Education and the University of North Texas’ and West Virginia University’s Outstanding Alumni Award. She received the Fort Worth Business Press Great Women of Texas Most Influential Woman Award, 2002. |

Michael Glaspie |
| Michael Glaspie has served as a member of the Arlington ISD Board of Trustees since 1991. He has a BA in Mathematics and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. He has done work on a Masters of Biblical Studies at Dallas Baptist University. Mr. Glaspie retired from IBM after a twenty-one year career in marketing and marketing management of information technology systems and solutions. Presently, he is the Minister of Christian Education and Missions at Mount Olive Baptist Church and also serves at the Executive Director of Metro Charter Academy. He and his wife, Janice, have three children, a daughter and two sons, who are benefiting from the excellent education they received from the AISD. |

Scott Kahl |
| Scott Kahl is the Director of Human Resources for National Semiconductor in Arlington, Texas. National is a semiconductor manufacturing plant with approximately 800 employees. The Texas HR staff is made up of specialists in employee relatations, staffing, benefits, and training.
Scott holds a Master of Science Degree in Industrial Psychology from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor of Science from St. Mary’s College of California. His experiences have crossed industries to include Fortune 500 Companies in High-Tech, Finance and Manufacturing organizations.
Scott has been with National since 1995. He has been the chairman of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce’s Quality Workforce Development Committee for the previous 2 years. He is currently a Board member with the Arlington Chamber and the Tarrant County Workforce Board.
He has also participated as a member of the Arlington Independent School District curriculum committee, and he is the chairman of the Tarrant County College Advisory committee for its microelectronics manufacturing program at the southeast campus.
On a personal note, Scott coaches ASA soccer for a 10-year old girls team and has been with the team for the last five years. |

John Lozier |
| John Lozier is a Senior Vice President of Business Development for Electronic Imaging Systems of America, headquartered in Chicago, IL. The firm specializes in software/service solutions for the publishing and securities industries. Prior to this assignment he was an executive with TXU Energy Services in Dallas, TX. John has lived in Arlington since 1980 and both of his children graduated from Arlington High School. In addition to his volunteer activities as VP Membership for the AISD Education Foundation, he serves on the Board of Directors for the DFW Michigan State University Alumni Association and is an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Arlington. |

Bill Lynch |
| Bill Lynch owns Minuteman Press Bedford, a local commercial printing company. He and his wife Mary have lived in Arlington since 1985. Bill has served on the Tarrant County Workforce Development Board, the Arlington Quality of Life Foundation, the AISD Financial Futures Committee and has been an active community volunteer on education and workforce development issues. |

Jim Maibach |
| James L. Maibach, C.P.M. is an active real estate broker, appraiser, property manager and property tax consultant and a very active member of several Arlington and Mansfield boards and committees. Mr. Maibach is currently a member of the Parks & Recreation Board for the City of Arlington, Southwest Securities Bank Board of Directors and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Jim has been a regional FBLA judge and serves on the Margarita Society which hosts an annual ball to collect toys for Arlington Children's Toys. |

Greg McCarthy |
| Greg McCarthy, a resident of Arlington since 1987, is an active volunteer in school district and community organizations, working with booster clubs for Butler Elementary, Shackelford Junior High, and Lamar High School as well as coaching YMCA basketball and soccer. He was a member of Young Men for Arlington for ten years and is a member of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce and New World United Methodist Church. Mr. McCarthy received a BBA Accounting from Texas A&M University and the J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law. He is attorney and shareholder with Miller & McCarthy, P.C. He and his wife Sherri have two daughters, Ashley, a freshman at TCU, and Kelley, a sophomore at Lamar High School. |

Robert McKizzie |
| Bob McKizzie, MBA, is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Tarrant County College Southeast. Bob is the Southeast campus Department Chair of Business Programs and the Economics Programs Coordinator which entails hiring, evaluating, and scheduling. Bob is a faculty senator and has served the Southeast campus as the President of the Faculty Association, is a former member of the Chancellor's Cabinet as a Joint Consultation Council member, and is a former member of the Southeast Campus President's Administrative Council. Bob was a 2005 nominee for the Chancellor's Award for Exemplary Teaching and is a 2006 National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) excellence award recipient. In 2003-2004, he was a Contact Advisor of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, under his leadership Southeast was ranked as the number one chapter in the nation. Bob has also been active in women's Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball in the Hurst, Euless, Bedford area as a coach and commissioner of the league and is a former president of the HEB Bands Booster Club. Bob is currently a doctoral candidate at Nova Southeastern University. Bob and his wife Barbara are the parents of two adult daughters and two grandsons, four years old Julian and one year old Jonah. |

| Ann Morris is a founding member of the AISD Education Foundation, Past President of the AISD Council of PTAs and a past member of the AISD Board of Trustees. |

Barbara Nash |
| Barbara Nash is a Certified Paralegal who is currently self-employed in real estate investments. She has lived and volunteered in Arlington for thirty-five years. Barbara has been active in PTA, Child Advocates, Salvation Army, Cancer Research Foundation, Rotary, Optimist and other community activities. Barbara is a former member of the Arlington ISD Board of Trustees. In 1997, she was elected to the Arlington City Council and served as Secretary on the Arlington Sports Facilities Development Authority for four years. Barbara, who is a widow with grown children, is active in The First Methodist Church of Arlington. |

Sylvia Nichols |
| Sylvia is the Grant Writer/Fund Development Coordinator for Arlington ISD. She represents the school district on several community initiative committees. She also manages a grant consulting and evaluation business and provides supervision for persons wanting to secure a Professional Counselor License. She and her husband, Bill, are active members of First Baptist Church where they lead a Bible Study for singles. Since moving to the Arlington in 1973, she has been active in the PTA, Junior League, Arlington Baylor Club and Women’s League, Arlington Life Shelter, Mission Arlington, Fourth Street School and other civic organizations. |

Diane Patrick |
| Diane Porter Patrick, Ph.D., is a faculty member in the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Department of the College of Education at The University of Texas at Arlington. Since moving to the Arlington community in 1973, she has been active in the PTA, Junior League, Arlington Baylor Club, and other civic organizations, Diane served on the Arlington ISD Board of Trustees from 1981-1992, including the last four years as board president. She was also elected to the Texas State Board of Education from 1992-1996. She and her husband Ned are the parents of two grown children who are Arlington School District graduates, and they have one grandson with another on the way. |

Cristina Smiley |
| Cristina Smiley is a 2005 graduate of Leadership Arlington and has been a longtime volunteer with the AISD and local community programs. She has served on the AISD Council of PTAs for three years and has been engaged at all levels of local PTAs. Cristina and her husband Jerry are proud parents of three children. |

Jim Sundberg |
| Executive Vice President Communications and Public Relations for Texas Rangers. Jims' Ranger's career started in 1974 as a player and spanned 16 years. He received six Rawlings Gold Glove Awards for his on field performance and was an American League All-Star three times. He was awarded the Rangers Community Service Award in 1989. The award has since be renamed in his honor. |

Mary Webster |
| Mary Pickle Webster is a native Arlingtonite. She is a graduate of Arlington High School, along with her husband, local attorney, Ned Webster, and their three children, Matt, Andy and Elizabeth. She has been an active volunteer in the district at all levels of the local PTA’s and Booster Clubs at Short, Gunn and Arlington High. She was honored with Extended Life Membership in the PTA at Arlington High. She is currently an active member of the Arlington Woman’s Club, Trinity United Methodist Church, a park board volunteer for the City of Dalworthington Gardens and a member of the Texas-Exes Association. Mary is currently employed by Family Healthcare Associates. |
